The Surprise Party

It was my sister’s ninth birthday yesterday, on the fifth of October. Annie and her mum had been very busy.

They went shopping for party hats, paper plates, and plastic cutlery. Annie called Jane’s friends a week before the big day. They wanted everything to be perfect.

On the morning of her birthday, Jane went to the park with her dad. While they were out, Annie and her mum prepared the snacks, poured the drinks, and put up the decorations. They even hired a clown for balloon twisting!

However, Jane arrived home earlier than expected. Jane said, ‘Surprise! I knew you would try to surprise me, so I wanted to surprise you and Mum instead!’ The guests arrived a bit late because of the heavy rain, but everyone had a great time throwing confetti.
